D is for Designer….

When I lived in Sicily for 3 years,I got totally addicted to designers in a way I had never been before. I had never particularly aspired to buy anything above New Look and Next, because despite the fact that I enjoyed looking nice, I wasn’t too worried about the label inside! However, in Sicily brands are everywhere and everyone is wearing them – when I got out there I wasn’t exactly the right size to be wearing anything designer though I slimmed down a lot of the Mediterranean diet and was soon able to squeeze into some of the designs but initially I went for bags and shoes. I had a real addiction to the shoes. You’re probably thinking but how could she afford it?! Well, I never bought full price, I went to the amazing outlet stores and sifted through shelves and rails to snag bargains for me and family back home. My mum even ended up with a wonderful Versace handbag one Christmas which scored me a lot of daughter brownie points I can tell you. However, coming home my salary dropped dramatically and I went back to not being too worried as I knew I wouldn’t be able to afford them, though I do like whisking through the odd charity shop to see what I can find because why can’t designer be second hand…

I think in the economic and environmental climate we live in it is good to recycle and re-use where possible which is why I love going to markets, craft stalls and second hand shops. Well, second hand shops are now also online too –  I came across Xupes who specialise in pre-owned luxury jewellery, watches and handbags. Now, whilst the prices are a little out of my range, it does no hard to wish does it?! I love window shopping (obviously I love buying more!!!) and loved having a look through to see what items they had and made my own little wish list, after all I have been a good girl this year….

Handbags…

Browsing through the handbags, I could have quite happily gone home with quite a few if I’m honest. I absolutely loooovvveeeddd this quirky knit style Chanel handbag as I see myself as quite quirky! However, I equally loved this gorgeous blue bag from Louis Vuitton – this blue always reminds me of that scene in The Devil Wears Prada when Meryl Streep informs Anne Hathaway that infact her “ugly” blue jumper was probably a product of the choices made by the women she looked down on in that room!

So, do you remember I wrote that post “Personal Ad: Blogger Seeks Husband!”?! Well, despite the lack of response (yet i might add!!!) I thought I would help them out by showing them the kind of ring I’d like them to rock up with!! I don’t think it’s too much myself… Platinum Brilliant Cut Solitaire Diamond!!! Not too much to ask right?! Hmmm….

I don’t often wear watches, although I have just received a gorgeous new watch, but when I do wear watches I like them to be girly!! The pink face of this lovely rolex and the pastel colouring and sparkly diamonds (yes more bling!!) of the Chaumet watch I think really add the girly touch so I would love something like one of these!!

As you can see I don’t want much – just a few diamonds here and there… and  everyone deserves diamonds don’t they?!
