I bet you’ve noticed as much as me that the days are finally getting lighter and despite the battle commencing to get kids to sleep when it is still light outside, I couldn’t be happier. The whole world pandemic seems a lot less dismal when we at least have sunshine and blue skies. It’s been a tough year keeping Alyssa entertained and happy, mostly inside and I ran out of ideas last lockdown, let alone this one!
Thankfully, the Caravan Club have some ideas and they couldn’t have come along soon enough with their Big Little Tent Festival!
The Caravan and Motorhome Club are hosting their annual Big Little Tent Festival this Easter. The idea behind the event is to invite would-campers to dip their toe into the world of camping by setting up a tent or build a den, either indoors or outdoors to experience what camping would be like but with home comforts to hand.Â
The idea of the Big Little Tent Festival is to allow families to recreate the joy of camping at home! The festival takes place over Easter weekend this year ( 3-4th April ) so the perfect time to get the whole family involved, perhaps you could even create a zoom family festival with friends.
It really is about open air spaces which is what makes The Big Little Tent Festival so topical. It means either pitching a tent in the back garden or because we all know how changeable the British weather is, you could be setting up camp with the kids in a pop up tent inside. There are so many ways to create a unique camping experience before being officially allowed to venture further afield. It is also a great way to make sure all your camping equipment is in order.
Do make sure you download the activity pack as this is has a handy checklist of all the things you need as well as activities and recipes ideas. There’s also printable wristbands and bunting to colour in so you can decorate your camping space.
The Big Little Tent Festival will also be providing a Zoom party, complete with special guests and entertainment to keep the big and little kids entertained over Easter weekend. You will meet The Mermaid Princess and The Friendly Neighbourhood Hero for games, superhero training, and a campfire song!
Whilst we don’t have a back garden to use, we do have someone in our bubble who does which means even more fun! We’re looking forward to toasting marshmallows on the firepit, having a sing-a-long and if the weather holds up, an outdoor movie with all the munchies on the garden wall! I think we may even have a couple of furry friends who want to join in too!
Don’t forget to join the Twitter party this Wednesday 31st March 2021 from 7-8pm to find out more!
