Once again this seems to have fallen by the wayside but then as this post was always meant for me it doesn’t really matter does it?
I seem to have lost a bit of my mojo recently and definitely lost my motivation and determination. I’m not really sure what happened to it –Â I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that I’m extremely tired and don’t really have a lot of energy left and at the end of the day all I want to do is curl up in bed and go to sleep or watch the latest episode of whatever program I’m currently obsessed with.
I’m not going to lie to you I’m finding having a two year old very very difficult. The terrible twos have truly hit and they are in fact truly terrible. Add in the fact that we’ve had a few weeks where Alyssa has been very very ill and it’s made it really difficult to even go to the bathroom without having her surgically attached to me let alone do anything else and as most parents will know this can be completely and utterly draining…
However I’m here, coming out the other side and so I thought I’d better do a catch up for everyone and let you all know what’s been going on.Â
So what has been happening –Â well we are now officially at the end of September and we’re going into October so the first thing I should probably tell you all is that today over on my YouTube (link here for convenience of course) I have just launched #vlogtober which I’m incredibly excited about and also think that I must be completely nuts too. I mean what else do you do when you have no time, no energy and too much work to do? Well of course, you add more work-why not? For those of you that don’t know what #vlogtober is, it basically means that I will be releasing a new vlog over on YouTube every single day for the full 31 days of October –Â so yes it does officially mean that I’m completely mad. Day 1 is already live over there today so why not go and take a look and it’ll explain everything you want, need and don’t want to know about what’s going to happen this month.
Another big change we’ve been experiencing recently which also probably adds to the terrible twos is the fact that Alyssa has officially started nursery. It was a bit of a bumpy start as she did really well at her settling in sessions and then when it came time to actually start, she got very upset every time mummy left. However, I now think that this was due to the fact that she wasn’t feeling very well because since she’s gotten rid of her illness she has been as bright and bubbly as ever and happy to run into nursery saying, “bye bye mama see you soon.” I’m so proud of how amazing she has done and how well she has now settled in and I know how wonderful it is for her too. It is also very good for me too because I’m getting two big blocks and chunks of time which are just for me and I’m able to drink hot coffee and work work work with the odd break too so that I feel more relaxed and I’m not constantly worrying about where I’m going to find the time to do all the work I have to do.
I’m really enjoying photography at the moment and learning different skills including editing which I’ve never done before but finally decided to listen to all the people out there saying, ” do you know how many more likes and comments and people would love your photos if you just did the smallest bit of editing?!” I actually really liked my pictures before and I still do like my pictures before editing however I have to admit that they were all completely right and even just spending two minutes editing my photos has made the world of difference and I’m amazed and can’t actually believe I’ve taken some of them. At the rate I’m going, I’m going to need a whole wall in the house just for prints that I want to get put onto canvas because I want to be able to see them everyday and of course they all have my gorgeous little baby in them too. If you want to see what I’ve been up to with photography you can always check out my Instagram where I post two or three times a day as well as doing stories too (link here for convenience of course!)
What else has been happening? Not a lot really. We had a friend come down to visit a few weeks ago –Â well I say friend, it was a new friend for us and an old friend for Bear. However, we all got on like a house on fire and Alyssa has a bit of a crush on him – we’re heading up to Bristol for a weekend shortly to visit him and take Alyssa to the zoo because who doesn’t love the zoo?
So there you have it everyone, that’s kind of caught you up – it’s not very exciting but then sometimes life isn’t that exciting is it? I’ve had a kind of mental block when it’s come to personal posts and have been reluctant to let my fingers fly over the keyboard but that block seems to be lifting now so I promise there will be more personal posts from me from now on whether it’s just a Sunday journal like this, my famous rants or simply the latest thing I’ve learnt about parenting. I promise I’m still here and most days if you head over to my Facebook page (link here for your convenience of course) you can see me between the hours of 7 and 8 a.m. on Facebook Live wittering on about absolutely nothing important, nothing relevant and looking pretty shocking because I don’t have any makeup on. If you pop by to read this post please pop a comment below and say hi as it’s always nice to know that someone is listening.
See you next time xoxo
