Success comes in all shapes and sizes doesn’t it? It can be an award you’ve waited your whole life to get. It could be recognition for something or from someone that matters. Or it could be something as small as your child saying I love you. We don’t celebrate success, in whatever form enough in my opinion and over the past few weeks and months with the madness that is blogging awards and particularity in the past week with my fight to get blogging seen as a real job, I have come to realise that everyone is a success in their own right. So, we find ourselves here and with me opening up the doors to Mummy in a Tutu for the first time to a guest post series. This series is here for any and all bloggers to talk about success; their success or the success of someone else that they want to recognise. Welcome to “I’m a blogging success because… Let’s hand over to Laura from The Unsung Mum…
The Unsung Mum wonders what being a blogging success really means. When she first started these ramblings, she thought to be a blogging success would mean a massive book deal (think Hurrah For Gin), a colossal social media following (a bit like Zoella) and being papped with your pants down like Kim K. But not now. The Unsung Mum already feels like a blogging success. She isn’t a Kum Ba Ya kind of girl normally, but blogging makes The Unsung Mum feel empowered. She never dreamed that she would stumble across such a welcoming community of like-thinking people but she has. The Unsung Mum first set up her blog for a bit of a rant then enjoyed dicking around with Paint on her PC. She never planned to make money from it or be the voice of reason when new mums were struggling to see the wood through the trees. It never even crossed her mind that anyone would actually read it, in till she downed too many glasses of Pinot one night and thought it’d be fun to share her incoherent thoughts with her Facebook feed. She was told early on that to be a successful blogger you must be a ‘Yummy Mummy’ or be terribly funny. The Unsung Mum was concerned that she was none of these things but thought that there must be a middle ground somewhere. That’s what The Unsung Mum likes about blogging. You can make it as big or as small part of your life and be whatever you want. The Unsung Mum doesn’t care about followers, pound signs or shares. She believes that if her long-winded tales help just one mum get through the day and realize that she is not alone, then as a blogger, she is a huge success.

Unsung is a massive success in my eyes. All of her posts make me guffaw but her post on PND is one of the best things I’ve ever, ever read – as a blogger and as a mum. She rocks. Love this series!
What a great idea! Success can be measured in so many different ways and is different for everyone.
What a lovely way to think about blogging! It can be so easy to get caught up in the expectations and hype of the really ‘big’ bloggers out there – but I love the idea that if just one person feels their day has been made a little better by a blog post, then that is successful! Another great series post! #ablogginggoodtime
Hooray for the middle ground! Like you, I’m not a ‘yummy mummy’, and I’m funnyish, but not a comic writer. It’s good to hear from someone else who is in that space and totally rocking it. #ablogginggoodtime
Awww I love this!!!! Inspiring and helping other Mamas is what its all about <3 #ablogginggoodtime
I love the unsung mum, she’s so funny! #abloigginggoodtime x

The Unsung Mum is super funny and I love that she cites the feeling of empowerment as making her a blogger success – I think so many of us feel like this. Loving this series x #ablogginggoodtime
What a great series, I aways love hearing about blogs that I know little or nothing about. The blogging community is awesome and it is great that you are promoting it! #ablogginggoodtime
I wish I had your perspective on things related to the blog and what it means to be successful. On my great days, I do. I absolutely do but on sucky days, I keep peering at the stats that seem reluctant to move. A very large part of me also does not care about the numbers, the dollar signs, and shares but a teeny-tiny part does. Oh well…#ablogginggoodtime
I love this series. It’s so cool to see different blogging perspectives. #ablogginggoodtime
It’s wonderful to find someone unusual amongst the usual! Love her posts. Funny, fresh and unique. #ablogginggoodtime
Short but sweet. It’s great to read her view on success. #ablogginggoodtime
This is so true Unsung Mum! Making a difference to 1 person is a huge success as you have made their day/month/life all the better for reading your blog. A great achievement and we should all remember that 🙂 #fortheloveofblog
