Do you remember that time when your child would be amused for hours by something that was shiny or simply made a noise? I remember one Christmas early on, Alyssa got so many presents and what was her favourite? The wooden stick that came with the xylophone. However, the older she gets, the more and more she is looking for toys that stimulate and challenge her. A few months ago, I finally let her play with a tablet and downloaded several interactive games for her, she loves any toys that spark imagination like her figurines and of course any toy that interacts back or responds to her is a huge bonus. Introducing the Zoomer Zupps Pretty Ponies….
So basically in case you haven’t heard of them before, Zoomer Zupps pretty ponies are Spinmaster’s answer to the increasing demand for interactive toys that are suitable for smaller hands and pockets – think tamagotchi (yup that’s how old I am) but without the screen. They’re really cute and come with “real” hair manes and tails and come in various colours as well.
We received the pink pony called Sugar (they each have a different name) and they come in their own little box and Sugar came with a hair comb as well as obviously she likes to be groomed as well. Their main bodies, front legs and head are fixed in place but the back legs bend and move so you’re able to change their poses and positions.
Each pony makes noises, has flashing lights and interacts with the user depending on the actions performed. Each horse has sensors on their nose and front and when touch, pressed or brushed in different ways it creates varying responses from the pony. PLUS, each pony has a special secret response which, if you follow the instructions correctly you, can make the pony do. I think this is a fairly difficult thing to do and I couldn’t manage to do it but another adult in the family did – however I am not sure a 4 year old would manage it. They would manage all of the normal responses and to activate the game in which the horse trots and gallops etc.
You’ll be pleased to know there is an off and on switch and also when left they make noises and flash lights for a few minutes and then begin snoring and drop off to sleep.
There are 6 Zoomer Zupps to collect and I think that they will make a great electronic pet for kids. I think the age requirement is a little low as I am not sure as I said a 4 year old would be able to manage it. However, I think other than a few tricky combinations to create the desired responses from the pony, it is a simple toy that will bring hours of fun.
