I have always been a fairly girlie girl. I love pink things, fluffy things, sparkly things, pretty shoes, a mixture of girlie dresses and boyfriend jeans, make-up and of course my crazy hair which has been every colour under the sun I swear! However, I’ve always been of the mindset “What they can’t see they’ll never know about!” How many times have I worn leggings or tights because I couldn’t be bothered to shave my legs and the thing I am worst for is underwear. When in a relationship I’d love going to the shops and going mad buying matching sets of beautiful underwear – because of course it is an actual crime to date someone and let them know you don’t always wear matching lacy sexy underwear don’t you know?! However, once not in a relationship I’d grab my giant, comfy, not at all sexy, cotton granny pants and non-matching t-shirt bra and be happy and content. Until recently that is…

One thing my Mum and I love to do is go shopping. Alyssa is fairly patient with us when we do – although we know when she’s had enough because she starts grabbing clothes off the rails as we walk past. People must think I’m crazy because often to keep her occupied we’ll sing a song together or I’ll have my phone hooked into my top with her facing me playing YouTube videos of the Teletubbies when I get really desperate – “Yes that is my chest that just went Eh-Oh!”

Anyway, we were recently out shopping and she turns to me and says “I’ll treat you to some new underwear if you like?!” and my response was “Thanks but there’s no point. I’m comfy in my granny pants and no one will see them but me.” She stopped me and asked me why there was no point?! I didn’t just have to look nice for someone else, I could look nice for me too. So, Why not for me? It really made me think – yes I wanted to be comfortable and somewhat practical but I had always enjoyed the feeling and look of gorgeous underwear and how it makes you feel wearing it. It’s kind of like when you get your nails done isn’t it? You just feel better about yourself.

Well, I got a few nice little bits – cotton granny pants but there was some lace on them too as a compromise. However, then an online company called The Knicker Locker, which happens to be local to be too, got in touch and asked me if I’d be interested in trying out one of their gorgeous bra sets – I promise I hadn’t actually mentioned underwear on the blog so they must be psychic!

I’m not going to lie – I have huge boobs that did NOT go down with breast feeding. I swear the enter the room five minutes before the rest of me and have their own zip code, so I was quite worried  that they wouldn’t stock any in my size but I needn’t have worried as they have some larger sizes too and go all the way up to a 42GG, so I decided to choose the Raquel set – it’s black (and I didn’t actually have a black bra that’s how bad I am) looked comfortable and it was lacy.

I wore the bra for 2/3 days in a row to really get a feel for it – you know how they can be too tight, or the bones suddenly start digging in or the fit can be off…. NOPE! Honestly, I found the size to be brilliantly  accurate and it is honestly one of the nicest bras I have worn in a long time. Despite the weight of my boobs, due to the softness of the straps they didn’t dig in, the cups were a nice fit and the lace looked beautiful. I also thought that the Lacey Soak wash smelt beautiful and left the bra smelling and feeling beautiful after a wash. I’d definitely recommend buying from Knicker Locker and will definitely be doing so again myself.
