Top Essential Oils: Beat My Blues!

I don’t know about you, but I am one of those emotional types; sensitive, cries easily at films, books, anything… and whilst I haven’t “officially” suffered with PND, I think I have started down the road a couple of times since having bubba but have managed to stay on the pavement rather than playing with the traffic. However, that does mean that at times, more specifically times of pure and utter exhaustion, I have felt pretty down. So when the lovely people at Top Essential Oils offered to let me try some of their products I jumped at the chance, especially as I was lucky enough to choose what I’d like to try – so for all us mummies, daddies, men and women who sometimes feel a little bit down I chose the ‘Beat the Blues’ package.

Essentially (see what I did there??!?!) this is a lovely oil burner kit that comes with a range of essential oils that are supposed to help lift your mood and spirit… and they smell good too!

The first thing I liked about this product (and I have to say made me really pleased) was the lovely way in which it was packaged. The box could have just been left as a simple, plain brown box. However, there was a little sticker on the outside telling me about the contents and then a lovely green ribbon was wrapped round the box – this made it seem almost like a present (and who doesn’t loooovvveeee presents!!) The contents were wrapped in tissue paper as well which colour matched the ribbon (gotta love a bit of matchy matchy at times!)

The second I opened the box, I was hit with the most wonderful, fresh and citrus(y) aroma.

As I said, the contents were beautifully wrapped in tissue paper and the essential oils were sensibly wrapped in plastic too – which was ideal as a small amount of the orange had dripped out hence the gorgeous smell when I open the box!

So inside, was a beautiful gold and chrome oil burner with a provided tea-light (which I thought was a nice touch) and 6 x 10ml bottles of 100% Pure Essential Oil! The “flavours” I received in the beautiful “Beat the Blues” package were: Tea Tree, Lavender, Orange, Lemon, Eucalyptus

 and Peppermint. Being the big child that I am, I instantly had to take the lid off of each oil to smell them (despite knowing what each smell actually smells like ) and my senses were hit with this lovely, calming, zingy smell which reminded me of summer and oddly of living in Sicily – I couldn’t wait to light the candle and fill the whole house with the beautiful smells!

 I tried each oil individually so that I could get a true sense of each one and I have to say I think the Orange was definitely my favourite as it really did remind me of summer which I adore. The Lavender I lit at Alyssa’s calm-before-the-storm bedtime hour as she is very used to the smell and it helps calm her. Only downside to this was that it made me want to go to sleep there and then too – and obviously I removed it from the room before putting her down to sleep (for all those safety people freaking out that I may have left a lit candle in the room!!) As I said, I tried them all individually and then I also mixed the orange and lemon together and also the

 tea tree and lavender which gave different but equally gorgeous smells. I did not burn pure oil – I filled the gold bowl half full of warm water and then dropped a couple of drops of whichever oil I was burning into the water so slowly diffuse into the room.

I have to say that with the oils ranging in price from £1.69 – £4.69 whether you are paying a higher or lower price it is great value for money as the bottles will last such a long time when you only require such a little amount to burn!

Overall, I would completely recommend Top Essential Oils as an excellent supplier of great quality products! I will be thoroughly enjoying my oils that definitely do help to lift your mood for a long long time. Thanks Top Essential Oils – you have definitely helped Beat My Blues!
