As the seasons are changing and we are in autumn rolling onto winter, I thought I’d tell you about all the fab clothes I have been seeing . No not for me – for Alyssa. Now those of you who are regular readers will know that Alyssa has a hugely better wardrobe than mine and looks pretty good in most outfits. Not bad for 2 years old. I always buy a mixture of brands for her depending on occasion, what’s on offer, price and if I really really reaaalllllyyy like something! So let’s take a look at what I’ve spotted this season so far…
First off i’d like to turn your attention to Tu clothing at Sainsbury. I like to buy some basics from here and this year there has been quite a noticeable amount of animals featured in their autumn/winter range. Some different colours too from the usual pink and lilac. I love the packs of 3 long sleeve t shirts . The mustard and yellow with brown are such warm autumn colours, the fox is so different and these little t shirts are great with jeans, joggers or leggings for a cosy day playing or nursery. At £10 for 3 t shirts it’s not too much of a disaster if they come home with splodges of paint – cheers Nursery!
For something that is absolutely Mummy in a Tutu I headed over to River Island kids. They have ….. Tutus. Now Alyssa has worn tutus in varying styles, attached to baby grows, dresses and skirts from the moment she was born, with her first one being bought by mum for her in prem size! Anyway, imagine my delight when I discovered several such tutus on browsing their online store and just had to getthis little gem. The colour, the flooofyness (yes it is a word) the price…what’s not to love. Perfect for parties or dress it down with a jumper and ankle boots or one of the amazing biker jackets in faux suede that River Island are doing for kids this winter and of course a fab hat.
For party pieces I went to Next and bought a Christmas outfit that’s both comfy and different. Now the usual idea for Christmas day wear is red, and with little girls, red velvet. Well I have carried on the velvet theme but in acid and plum! I am absolutely in love with this set including the shoes and can’t wait to put Alyssa in it on the great day! I have no doubt it will end up covered in chocolate but isn’t that what Christmas day is about. Besides it’s all machine washable!
Finally, for my finale I must show you the most perfect, fairy tale cape that is available from Monsoon. In a deep deep red, which of course is a must colour for the winter with sweet roses trimming the hood, this cape is amazingly machine washable. I ummed and ahhhed whether to buy it for Alyssa but in the end the sheer magic of this item won me over. My reasoning was “well it has no arms so it will last her longer as it won’t look too short”! Look out for the cape in a post coming soon. My very own little red riding hood on a picnic in the woods!
I could wax lyrical about many more items I have seen or bought and you will see quite a few in my instagram and posts. My advice is to shop the sales which seem to happen at any odd time mid season. Sign up for the online stores of your favourite high street retailers as they often send discount codes, and buy a mix of lower priced items with more costlier pieces dotted throughout the season to keep your little one on trend. I also did a Vlog recently about all of Alyssa’s Autumn/Winter wardrobe so far – why not check it out:
We’re incredibly lucky with clothing for our wee sprogs. The eldest has had oodles of hand-me-downs from family that have hardly been worn. As for my daughter, my parents-in-law love to buy her things, so I can’t complain. We barely have to visit a shop at the moment, absolutely relishing it! #ablogginggoodtime

Beautiful photographs! Love the mirror!
Love the cape! If only I could get my daughter to wear something like that – she’s very…err, picky at the moment. #ablogginggoodtime
