“Pusheen” for more Cats!

We’ve never really been a specific type of pet person ie Cat or Dog person but due to circumstances for most of my life we have almost always had a cat. At one point, thanks to some rather “over-friendly” local cats we actually had a total of 9 at one point and it was like lining up the troops at feeding time. Just before we moved house we had it down to three; one of which was going with my step-father and his new partner and two with us. Sadly, four days before we were due to move we lost another cat to the awful (supposed to be quiet) country road we used to live on so we only brought the one with us… and it seems quiet. Having been single for so long there are already jokes that I am going to end up as the crazy old spinster cat lady and I suppose there are worse things – at least I’ll have company right?! We have a couple of holidays coming up and then we are hoping to have a new puppy and kitten join our little family and we can’t wait. In the meantime, Alyssa has been looking for all the cats as she absolutely adores them and she has perfected her “meow” amazingly well. So what a stroke of luck when Gund, America’s oldest and most prestigious soft toy company got in touch and asked us if we’d like to review a Pusheen…

Some of you may not have heard of Pusheen, I know I hadn’t, but just think of all your favourite different characters in a luxuriously soft and super cute cat plushie and you’ll get the idea.

“Pusheen, she is a domestic short-haired grey tabby with all nine lives fully intact.  With over 9 million Facebook likes, Pusheen is the star of her own extremely successful animated web comic series made to look like a self-run blog, featuring the chubby cat in a variety of cute and funny situations, often giving advice and suggestions on popular culture and social media, all from a feline point of view. 

The plush range from Gund features Pusheen in a variety of poses, colours and costumes. Much like an actual cat, these plush toys manage to be funny, weird, and yet lovably adorable, all at the same time. “

How did I never know that she existed?! Absolutely brilliant – although I am not sure how I feel about a cat beating me in blogging stats but we’ll just bypass that point rather quickly!

Just like in her blog, Pusheen gets up to all sorts and so of course you can buy a Pusheen plushie for every different occasion from Detective Pusheen to Pusheen eating pizza or icecream AND they even have (I may have squealed a little when I saw this!!!!!) a Pusheenicorn (Pusheen Unicorn) arriving in stores to which literally made my day!!

We were fortunate enough to be sent Mermaid Pusheen from Gund and Alyssa absolutely squealed with delight when she opened it – as did Nonna who apparently thought it was incredibly cute and wants one too! When I eventually managed to wrestle it out of the toddlers tight grasp I was amazed to feel how gorgeously soft she was and how well padded too. Her colours as beautiful pastel shades and her features and adorable – it’s hard not to love this cat!

We couldn’t have been more thrilled with our gorgeous Mermaid Pusheen and needless to say I think we will be adding to our collection very soon – especially with a certain little person’s birthday rapidly approaching!
