I’m A Blogging Success Because… Week #32
7th October 2017
It’s weird because I always thought that I was a summer girl through and through – I mean I love the sun, I love having a tan and before having a child, I used to love nothing more than lying on a sun lounger with a book and soaking up some rays. However now, maybe because running around after a toddler in the hot sun is no fun, I think I might actually be swaying towards Autumn. Think about it, the sun still shines probably about as much as it does during our dreadful English Summer but it is just that little bit cooler. You also get to pop on welly boots and swish through leaves, go pumpkin picking and carving and when it gets even colder, huddle up in cosy jumpers, hats and scarves. Yup, I think I am officially and Autumnal chick now. Also, have you noticed that October (or Autumn in general) is all about Orange – Pumpkins, leaves, Halloween… the list goes on! Well this year, I am also enjoying some delicious #ChileanEasyPeelers thanks to Britmums….

With back to school season still in full swing and half term also fast approaching everyone was madly rushing round getting uniform, pencil cases and lunch boxes ready and I was sat here all casual as I luckily still have another two years until my little one will be heading to school. Yes she goes to nursery but she started that in the summer and luckily they provide all her food and she can wear what she likes so we were all pretty casual.

However, we’re always together in the afternoons and I can guarantee you she will ask for a snack. Honestly, with how much she runs round madly, I am not actually surprised. I always try and give her a healthy snack, with a random treat every now and then, so it will often be a yogurt or a piece of fruit. I have to say, she’d never tried an orange (she’s had the juice) as to keep a toddler waiting whilst you peel can be a bit trying. However, when the #ChileanEasyPeelers arrived from Britmums I thought we’d give them a go.

I prepared one before hand and stored in in a tupperware in the fridge, ready for when she’d ask for a snack. She was a bit hesitant at first as obviously she’d never really seen an orange peeled before. I sat there and peeled one in front of her for me too. I popped a segment in my mouth and it burst with delicious sweet juice. Obviously she copied her mama and popped one in too. Mmmm delicious! We sat there and enjoyed our yummy delicious oranges – every last bit.

Now, when we’re heading out for the day, I make sure I pack one in our little food bag so we can have it on the go and have also been adding some segments to yogurt or fruit salad for yummy puddings after dinner. October and Autumn is definitely all about the orange and this year we’ve taken that one step further by enjoying oranges nearly every day – delicious!
