If you follow me on Facebook and Instagram, you’ll know that I have undergone a bit of a transformation the last few months… well 21 weeks to be exact.
At the end of January I had decided enough was enough, both my physical and mental health were in the toilet and I didn’t like myself very much. After 21 weeks, I’ve lost 9 stone 4lbs and whilst my journey is by no means over, I feel lighter mentally and of course am a lot lighter physically.
I’ve never enjoyed clothes shopping as a plus size woman, which I still am, because it usually lead to more tears and unhappiness. However, over the last few years, the places I could shop and the clothes I could get got better and better but the problem was in me.
Recently Yours Clothing got in touch and asked me if I’d like to review some of their new Summer Clothing range and having very few clothes that fit well anymore, I was delighted, particularly when I am a long time Yours Clothing customer.Â
This summer they have the most amazing patterns and bold colours in a whole array of styles to suit all bodies from sizes 14 to 32.
I have a wedding coming up in the summer so the first thing I looked for was an outfit and this beautiful floral print dress was perfect. It had a flattering neckline, fitted under my bust and flared out to a wonderful length. The style hid all the bits it’s still not happy with, whilst equally showing off my new found waist.Â
I haven’t worn shorts for a long time and decided I was finally confident enough to try, so I picked some ripped denim shorts and paired them with a floaty off the shoulder floral top.
I absolutely loved the shorts, they fit perfectly and I felt amazing wearing them. I was a little disappointed in the top, whilst it’s lovely, the material wasn’t what I expected, and the cup size section of the top was stupidly small considering its meant for plus size people so it’s the kind of thing I’d recommend for those with a smaller bust.
Finally, I wanted to give some sort of heel a go. I haven’t worn heels really since before I was pregnant with Alyssa and the thought of doing so now terrifies me. So I went with these sparkly low heeled summer sandals to ease me in which I can dress down with the shorts or dress up with the dress.
Whether you’re looking for every day looks or something for an occasion, I’d definitely recommend the new summer collection from Yours Clothing for all plus size girls like me – thanks to them, I’m actually starting to feel beautiful.
