Highlights of the Week: #14

Here we are, another week and whilst it has flown by it also feels like it’s been a really long ass week – anyone else think that? I have had a baby in recovery from tosnilitis this week (finally found out what was wrong) and I haven’t been too well either. But, I have powered through to find some highlights this week…

1. Offline – I’ve had a very clingy baby this week due to her still being ill but luckily finally recovering which has made it difficult to get anything much done – I have had a 5th limb this week! However, my lovely mum took Alyssa twice this week (pretty much the only other person Alyssa will cuddle when ill) so that I could get stuff done. Thanks mum… legend!

2. Online – We had our second #tribalchat this week which was again a huge success. We had several new tweeters join in and who have now decided to stick around and join in with out private group chats too! One of the best things about chat is that we have had a week of original members being busy and not being able to chat much, but everyone put everything else down and came back together and joined in. The nice thing is that people are actually looking forward to it and the time flies by so fast. Next week’s chat will be hosted by@Tammymumuk and everyone is welcome. Stop by Twitter Tuesday evening 8pm and just add a #tribalchat to your tweets!

3. Offline – This should be one on next weeks but I am making it a prelude highlight this week too. Tomorrow my brother and his partner (who Iintroduced in my post ‘Meet the Family’ ) are off for their 20 week scan and will finally be able to tell me if I am getting a niece or a nephew. I am leaning towards girl (an usually guess right with these things) but this baby has had me going back and forth for a while now!

4. Online – My choice for really useful blog post this week comes from Talya over@Motherhoodreal who wrote a really handy post ‘How to Secure Sponsored Blog Posts!’ This has been incredibly helpful as I am kind of at that point now and starting to get requests so this was incredibly useful. Thanks lovely!

5. Offline – I got to see the lovely Karen from KW Photography this week when I took Alyssa over for her next photo shoot ‘Sitting-Up!’ Unfortunately, Alyssa was too poorly to do the shoot and so we had to rearrange, but it was lovely to see Karen (who I met when I went for my maternity shoot…not knowing I was already in labour!!) and have a chat and a catch up. You may recognise Karen as being the UK Photographer who has made the news recently due to her’Cake Smash’ video going viral! You can check it out here. Really looking forward to heading back in a few weeks and getting our new pics done!

6. Online – It’s Blogging awards seasons – the MADs and the BIBS. I never thought that just 4 months into blogging I’d even consider entering let alone be nominated by anyone else. However, here I am going in for Newbie Blogger and Fresh Voice! I have no expectations whatsoever, but to know I have been nominated by some fellow bloggers already makes me feel great. If you feel you could vote for me then please click on the buttons on the right!

7. Offline – It’s been a yucky week with a poorly baby and most of my time has been consumed by that and towards the end of the week, I was ill myself. However, I did manage a small break and found myself in the kitchen where I made a delicious ‘Potato, Spinach & Leek Bake’ – delicious and all in the house approved!

8. Online – I was really pleased to pop onto my Instagram profile this week and discover that I hit 500 followers!  don’t know when this happened as it seems to be quite automatic that I just post, like, comment and don’t check my profile so it was a really nice surprise. If you don’t already do so, come follow me on Instagram here.

That’s it for this week guys from me… how has your week been?
