Valley Mill: Naturally… Oh So Good!

So, regular readers will know how I just lurrrve being a mummy to my gorgeous little girl but….. I also love receiving  products to review especially if they are for me. These days most of my pennies go on goodies for Alyssa so a product review for me is like, a gift. I’m also quite a girly

girl( In case you hadn’t noticed) and I like to smell nice at all times even if I don’t have time to actually get round to looking nice too!

I have been lucky enough to be sent a little box of gorgeousness (yup new word) from the lovely people at Valley Mill. Right from my fist glance at the craft feel delivery box I was hooked. To me a nice plain brown craft box spells country, goodness, natural, and treat. Inside my box , nestled in corrugated shred were two little boxes; one my soy candle melts and one natural soap.

The  perfume I chose for the soap was Rosemary and Lime. We aren’t talking fragrance here we are talking 100% natural essential oils. At this point I should maybe say I do know my way around essential oils and all things natural in soap as my mum used to be a partner in a little business making handmade soaps, bathbombs etc and I spent many hours at the big kitchen table helping her mix and cast a bit of magic. Anyway, back to my soap. I chose Rosemary and Lime as the oils are refreshing, uplifting and help mental clarity and fatigue (and i need those in spades). The combination of the two is just sub-lime (Ha pun intended) and just

sniffing the soap makes you feel “clean”! I also like the fact that the soap is coloured with natural products too, in this case spinach and annatto to give a two tone green and orange colour. The soap smells refreshing and nicely scented without being overpowering. Using the soap gave a creamy lather and left my skin smelling nice and most importantly, not dry, due to the shea butter and coconut oil included in the ingredients.

Now during my watery ablutions testing my soap I also used my second product, to fragrance the steamy air of my bathroom. As many of you know I am a lifelong vegetarian and dabble in veganism more and more often. I was delighted therefore to receive some  Jasmine fragranced soy candle melts as the second item in my box. With the bee population in decline anything that helps to save them is good in my book. Well i popped one of these cog shaped little melts, incidentally printed with the company logo, into my burner lit my soy tea light and waited for the wax to melt.Oh my, as I lay in my bubbly haven, I felt myself relax into a pre baby feeling of liquid relaxation. The fragrance is divine, not overpowering, but strong nevertheless and there is something exoctic and almost holiday in the sun-ish about its smell. The good thing was, when i was done wallowing, I blew out my tealight knowing I still had a good 11 hours worth of fragrance from my melt, and with 5 in my gift box i was in for a dreamy bath time experience again and again,(thanks mum for having Alyssa).

So, to the matter in hand, do I recommend Valley Mill soaps and candles? It’s a big yes from Mummy in a Tutu. I’m heading over to the web site http://www.valleymill.co.uk/  for a browse at their selection of handmade goodies including natural welsh slate and wool products as well as the scrumptious candles and melts. Happy shopping!

**Valley Mills gifted these items to me in return for a review. All opinions are honest and my own**
