How to Have a Successful Family Road Trip
3rd August 2018
I am slowly but surely getting more confident in front of the camera – either that or I am caring a little less about what people think about me. I have tried and spectacularly failed to diet this year. I start out with good intentions but for some reason they don’t tend to last very long. However I really don’t want my body issues to be passed on to Alyssa and really don’t want it to stop me doing anything with her. With our upcoming holiday to Greece on the horizon I still want to try and look my best and find a couple of things to wear in the evening for when we go out to dinner or pop to the evening entertainment with Alyssa. When London-based Fashion, Elvi got in touch and asked me to review some of their clothes I was excited to find a few bits for holiday and pleased to discover they did sizes to fit!

As I said, Elvi are a London based Fashion Brand that do sizes from 8 – 28 meaning there is pretty much something for everyone. Right off the bat I liked their style as they seemed to cover all bases. I don’t really have a set style as I like all sorts from sleek and chic to hippy and chilled and there was a full range to cover this. So, I was looking for a couple of items that I could take on holiday and where out in the evening but that perhaps would be okay for when I got home too.

I really liked the peach colouring of the strap top I chose. I knew the shade would suit my colouring and look good once I had gotten my tan. I would say that I should have gone up another size from my normal size but that is just for me personally and the way I like clothes to hang. The  material was good, this top wasn’t stretchy but you could feel it wasn’t cheap and worth the money. I chose this top as well because I knew it would go with a couple of items I wanted to match it to.

My absolute favourite thing I chose were these crushed, peach pinstripe trousers. They had a silver, shimmery pinstripe pattern and an elasticated waist meaning when I gorge on the holiday food which I know I will, I won’t need to worry so much about clothes becoming too tight. They were quite long so these are going to be ones that I need to wear with a wedge or a heel but that’s no problem.

I knew I already had quite a few dresses to take with me so the last thing I chose were these cropped floral/leaf trousers as again these would go and do go really well with the peach top. Again, I feel like I should have gone up a size in these as they weren’t very generous and the fabric had no give. They looked great on but if you carry any extra weight around your middle you’ll need to hop up a size.

Overall, I was really impressed with Elvi. Their clothes are good quality and not too expensive. I’d say go up a size or so to make sure the clothes are going to fit and avoid disappointment. Delivery was fast and there is a lot of choice. I am really glad to have found another plus size brand to shop with on the market.
*I was sent the clothes for the purpose of the review. All thoughts are my own.
