Highlights of the Week: Week #21

We’re back again for another look at the week and I have to say it’s been so busy that I don’t know where it’s gone! So much has been happening that it’s quite nice to stop and think about it all for a minute…

1 – Offline… So the biggest and best highlight of my week has to be the arrival of my new niece Lily aka Lily Bean. She arrived in the early hours of Monday morning weighing 6lbs 2oz and absolutely perfect. I was lucky enough to be able to give her a few quick cuddles the day she was born and spent the following day as chief babysitter whilst mummy and daddy caught up  on some much needed sleep. This also afforded me the opportunity to introduce Alyssa to her new baby cousin – the reaction?? In Alyssa’s exact words “Ooo Ooo Ooo Eeeee Bubba Bubba!” Yes, she was very excited, started stroking her like a cat and we assume she thinks that Lily is HER new baby. Can’t wait for a years time to see these two running round after each other – soooo cute!

2 – Online…This week I had great fun hosting a live Twitter chat for Little Baby Bum on the Youtube sensation with over 7 million subscribers. They are an educational children’s channel who have now released their own line of musical plushies based on the characters and the songs from their online episodes! Alyssa has some and they are awesome – you can get them in store or online at The Entertainer or Smyths Toy Stores.

3 – Offline… The wonderful people over at Peugeot invited Alyssa and I to join them in their VIP Tent at CarFest South this week and we had a brilliant time. We were joined there by Adventures with J,The Unsung Mum, The Beta Mummy and Mouse Moo & Me Too(all Tribal Chat members so I think we had a bit of a tribal takeover moment!) It was lovely to be able to take our little ones who enjoyed meeting Pudsey and the lovely cold drinks provided by Peugeot on such a hot day – we definitely had the weather for it! Thanks Peugeot!!

4 – Online…Now, throughout my Highlights history I have often rejoiced when reaching following numbers; specifically on Twitter and Instagram. However during this time, I have never really mentioned Facebook and that is because I consider it my nemesis. I find it so much harder  ( thanks to Facebook hating me) to get likes, followers or even views!! This week though I am pleased to announce that I have finally gone over the 500 mark…. mini wave and woohoo to me!!

Offline… This week our gorgeous weather returned meaning we’ve once again been able to spend some lovely time outside in the garden and in the park. Outside, sunshine and babies means summer hats and one of my absolute favourites for Alyssa this year is this straw hat with colourful flowers along it. She looks so cute in it… and don’t even get me started on summer dresses!!
