About a year ago, I became very much aware of how difficult it is to vacuum with a lead. Not only that but it’s really annoying too. You constantly have to move it around, change sockets and there’s always one tiny patch you can’t get to because it simply won’t reach and getting an extension lead seams like overkill. So, we got a cordless vacuum and our troubles seemed to be over… or so we thought. Having no cord was great but the vacuum had little suction and it was almost impossible to unblock the brush head and we ended up replacing the full head once in 6 months and then a few weeks ago it became apparent that we needed to again. However, AO.com got in touch and asked if we’d like to review the Bosch Unlimited BCS101GB Cordless Vacuum Cleaner with up to 60 Minutes Run Time which I was happy to give a go!
I have to say I was a bit dubious to try another cordless vacuum cleaner given my previous experience but as we were in need I thought we had nothing to lose. As always, the delivery from AO.com could almost be called a pleasure compared to some delivery companies. For those who haven’t experienced it, you get given a block of time they will deliver (not a whole day) then on the day you get told a smaller time slot and then the delivery drivers call you when they are on their way to you. It makes it much easier to organise doing other things around deliver. They unload and offer to carry your delivery to wherever you need it (obviously I needed no set-up or installation today) and then take a quick picture of your delivery to show the condition it arrived in.
To give you guys a full idea of the product, I’ve created a vlog for you showing the unboxing, set-up and a demo in standard mode and turbo…
I do like to waffle a bit don’t I?! Sorry – but as you can see, the Bosch Cordless Vacuum Cleaner is really easy to set up and to use. The clips connecting the parts are a little stiff to start with but after a couple of uses, slip really easily in and out. If like me you live with small children, long hair and pets I think this vacuum is great as even in standard mode the power of the suction is brilliant. Then you get into turbo mode and it’s like WOAH!
I would say the only thing I’d change is that I would like it to come with a spare battery pack so you can keep one on charge whilst you use the other one. If you keep the vacuum on Turbo mode for an extended period of time then it does run the battery down fast. There is the temptation to use turbo mode a lot as it’s just so quick but I do try to remind myself to use normal mode too.
I’ve used the vacuum for hoovering the floor, cleaning up crumbs on the sofa and cleaning up cobwebs from the highest corners of the rooms and it has handled each and every task. If like me you have a lot of traffic and activity in your home, you will need to empty the vacuum fairly often as it doesn’t have a huge capacity. However, it’s great to be able to go from different surface to surface and not have to change any settings.
Overall, I’d thoroughly recommend the Bosch Unlimited BCS101GB Cordless Vacuum Cleaner as one that is great for family life. It’s not a cheap unit by any means but I think you’re paying for quality and hopefully a vacuum that is going to last a good while.
*We were spent the product for the purposes of this review – all thoughts are our own
I have been looking for a cordless vacuum that would work good on my stairs and this looks perfect. Sometimes you just have to spend more to get the quality and longevity! Thanks for sharing!

This sounds like a really good idea. I’m still lugging my Henry around and its a bit tedious! #ABloggingGoodTime
I had to switch to cordless when my mobility became really poor. I couldn’t risk falling over the lead.

This would be perfect for my 4 story townhouse. FOUR floors of carpet! Who thought that would be a good idea? #ablogginggoodtime
