Music has always been a huge part of my life from a very young age. My beloved Nanny introduced me to the likes of The Sound of Music and Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. Whilst my mum would get the record player out, putting on people like Kylie Minogue and Barry Manilow. Whilst the musicals and cheesy pop are where my heart truly lies, I do enjoy a really eclectic mix of different genres when it comes to music.  I have some absolute idols both past and present and I do have complete fangirl moments. Mr Tutu took me to see The Bodyguard musical for my birthday 2 years ago and I completely fan girled over Alexandra Burke.

If like me, you are a big music nut and are a big fan of a number of bands and singers, then something that needs to be on your to-do list is an amazing Music Tour round some of the incredible birth places of these idols throughout the UK.

Take for instance, one of the most iconic bands in history… The Beatles. If you were or are a fan of them, there are lots of options you have for fangirl moments. The Beatles were an English rock band, formed in Liverpool in 1960, whose best-known line-up comprised John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr. They are regarded as the most influential band of all time and were integral to the development of 1960s counterculture and popular music’s recognition as an art form.

If you like London and are into walking and exploring, why not do it with a “Beatles London Walking Tour.” Get Back to pivotal places in The Beatles story; where they recorded, played, and met people who changed their lives. Discover where they crossed paths with legendary rock stars like Jimi Hendrix, the Rolling Stones, David Bowie, Queen, and many more. On this tour, you’ll visit the site of The Beatles’ iconic rooftop concert, a lesser-known studio in which they made one of their biggest hits, the home and office of one of the Fab Four, and the birthplace of the British music scene.

However, if you don’t feel like trekking all through London on foot, then you have the option of going in style and doing the “Beatles London Taxi Tour!” You can now see many of the locations where the Beatles made music history on your private Beatles London Taxi Tour. Your knowledgeable and friendly cabbie will guide you through Beatles London sharing insights into their lives as you are driven around. What better way to learn about your favourite band?! Plus, if the weather is bad, it won’t matter as you’ll be warm and cozy in your London cab!

Of course, if you’re a diehard fan and want to go back in history you could take the ultimate “Beatles Liverpool Walking Tour” and go right back to the beginning! You will explore some of the special places in Liverpool that the Beatles were emotionally connected to and frequented on their path to global fame in the 1960’s on this 1.5-hour Liverpool Beatles walking tour.

The locations visited on this tour are all in the central city, so the walking is easy and gently paced. Highlights include, walking down Mathew Street where the world-famous Cavern Club is situated and opportunities to have selfies with John Lennon and Cilla Black by their statues.

Not a Beatles fan? Well then how about another legend…. David Bowie?! For the ultimate fan there is the “David Bowie London Tour!” David Bowie was one of the world’s most influential and loved musicians. But who was the man behind Ziggy Stardust and Aladdin Sane? On this amazing tour, you’ll get insight into this beloved icon, including where he was born, where he went to school and of course the studios he recorded in.

My final recommendation for music fans has to be the “George Michael Bus Tour!” Join other fans of the iconic Wham! singer on a George Michael Bus Tour. On this small group tour limited to a maximum of 15 persons.  Your expert guide will take you on a journey through the life of one of the most iconic popular music artists from the past 40 years.  You’ll see where George wrote his songs, stop at the pub where the name Wham! Was derived and of course visit his resting place.

For music and pop culture fans, there’s no better way to get a look into our icons’ lives than to grab a guide and head out on one of these amazing tours. My thoughts are that at some point, whilst these icons will always remain in our hearts, people are getting older every day and sooner or later these star tours will be replaced by new star tours when more icons pass. My advice is to get in there now and keep their spirits alive. Which one will you pick?
