[Ad-Gifted – All Opinions are our own]
For most people when it comes to Easter, it’s another excuse to get the family together and sit down and enjoy a nice meal together. I am all for that though find it slightly hypocritical of those who drive past a field cooing at how cute the baby lambs are only to go and eat one – not for me. We will be having a wonderful day together with an Easter Egg Hunt and a big family meal but I will be doing it veggie style. So if you’re wondering what to feed a Vegetarian or a Vegan this Easter for the main meal or snacks and nibbles take a look at my food guide below…

The BIG Family Meal

Not unlike meat-eaters for big family occasions we tend to cook a roast dinner with all the trimmings. Roast potatoes, parsnips, vegetables, cheesy leeks, stuffing and Yorkshire pudding – but what do we do for the main dish? We mix it up. Sometimes I’ll do my delicious Nut Roast or other times it will be my Vegetarian Chicken and Mushroom Pie. Whichever I do, it’s always a winner!

Of course, it doesn’t have to be a traditional meal at all. Looking at the weather forecast for the Easter weekend it looks like bright blazing sunshine so I am tempted to do a barbecue. I have some great burger recipes but I really love the new products from Meatless Farm (I cooked some burgers live on my Instagram which you can see in my highlights if you’d like) and they’d be great on a barbecue. Alternatively, they also do a great mince product which I used to make both a lasagne and my Moussaka recipe too!

Sweet Treats for All

We have a lot of special diets in the family. We have vegetarian, vegan, gluten free but also someone who suffers with IBS meaning they need a low fodmap diet which includes being lactose and soya free which can be a real challenge. Fortunately for this we found Creative Nature Superfoods who provide products which are vegan and designed for those who have food intolerance or allergies – and people in that position can find Easter a real challenge. I was delighted to try out their brownie and cupcake mixes as well as their ready-to-eat carrot cake bars. They have loads of different mixes and ready to eat foods available and are a real find!

Snacks and Nibbles

Sometimes you don’t want lots of food and you just want to put a few nibbles out – we’re like this during our mammoth board game sessions which can last quite a while. I love making my Homemade Vegetable Crisps because they’re easy, you can make loads and 99% of diets can eat them including those on Slimming world like me! But, we don’t just have to have them on their own because I discovered the most amazing new brand called ChicP who make loads of different Houmous from various vegetables and other good things. Ii got to try 4 of their flavours and they really hit the mark flavour wise and you feel almost angelic eating them too – delicious!

Chocolate

Of course being vegetarian doesn’t mean we don’t like to indulge in a little chocolate and if you’re going to you might as well do it right, right? Divine Chocolate sent me a few of their delicious Easter range including their Hot Cross Bun Chocolate Bar (which was bloomin amazing!!) Milk Chocolate Salted Caramel Popcorn Egg and their Dark Chocolate with Pink Himalayan Salt Egg. Beautiful packaging and divine chocolate, they are the perfect Easter treat.
