We’re already in February and pretty damn close to March (which is also my birthday just FYI) and it all seems to be speeding away. One of the goals I set myself this year (You can read all about my goals in What I Want From 2018) was to lose weight. In total, I’d actually like to lose six stone over the whole of the year which might seem like a lot but it is actually only half a stone a month. To kick start that off for me, a wonderful company that launched in the UK a little while ago, but originates in France called So Shape, offered to let me try their 14 day #SOSHAPE challenge and see if it would kick-start my weight loss well and truly…

Launched in France by two friends, Raphael and Steven who had the goal of simplifying the dieting process with no fads or gimmicks just simple nutritional goodness, combined with the power of social media, So Shape appears to be one of THE new diets of the year!

Believe me, I have been on a diet for as long as I can remember in my life and I have tried everything around from counting points, complete meal replacements, psycho-therapy… you name it, I’ve tried it so quite honestly I was going to be surprised if So Shape could offer me anything different.

First of all, unlike most diet plans you have 3 options to choose from – the 5 day, 14 day or the 28 day plan and the decision is totally up to you which you do depending on your personal circumstances and finances etc. The aim of So Shape is for you to lose weight fast but in a healthy way.

One of my main concerns when starting a diet is how vegetarian friendly it is going to be and actually the Smart Meals provided by the plan are all completely 100% vegetarian (huge sigh of relief) as well as a lot of the packets also being Gluten Free too. Basically what happens is you get sent sachets and your very own So Shape Shaker bottle and for two meals a day you have one of the sachets – hot and cold drinks, frappes, soups, pastas, rice… there are all sorts! Then for the other meal a day you eat whatever you like (within reason) so those panicking that they’d be turning veggie for a month, fear now.

Anyway, allow me to show you how I got on…

I was honestly over-joyed to have lost the eight pounds and am only sorry that my So Shape journey has now come to an end as I could honestly see myself carrying on with it for a long time – it was so easy and just fit so well into my lifestyle, especially as it didn’t create any extra work or faff. I literally chose a sachet and that was the most complicated part of a meal – my dishwasher was also grateful for the lack of pots and pans!

One thing I didn’t mention in the video is that also included in the information booklet, So Shape put together a list of 0% foods which you can snack on to get you from meal to meal such as Cucumber, Tomatoes, Chicken Breast, Peppers etc. It was a worry I had at the very beginning that I would be pushing myself through on water and after a while I was but I did find it handy to have a handful of cherry tomatoes or something during a long day!

As I said before, there are three challenges you can choose from:

Reboot – 5 day challenge

This challenge is perfect if you have overindulged and are feeling a little sluggish. It will make you feel lighter, give you more energy and stimulate your metabolism. You may even lose a couple of pounds too!

Overall, I can honestly say that So Shape has been the easiest diet I have ever done. Yes I had a few headaches at the beginning where my body was detoxing but I think because I was having a normal meal a day (and being sensible) it really didn’t feel like I was missing out on anything. I suppose the overall question is does the diet work… well as I lost weight doing it then the simple answer is yes! The fact that I am SAD my diet is ending means that something obviously clicked in me when on it and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking to lose weight or take a detox.
