Swim into Summer… with Baby Swimming Shop!

Baby swimming underwater with the title below
Those of you that follow my blog will know that from a very young age I have enjoyed taking Alyssa swimming who is such a water baby that it is a delight to be a part of it. Totally unfazed by water going over her head she splashes away to her hearts content and only objects when it is time to get out. However, a problem I had right at the beginning of our water journey was that I found it quite difficult to find swimming costumes in her size. Most stores didn’t start them until age 3-6 months and even then they were just your standard swimming costumes which would have been fine on you or me or even older children but for babies who can’t regulate their own body temperature and need to be kept as warm as possible in the pool, especially in winter, these swimsuits would have only really been suitable for a much warmer climate. I managed to track down a wetsuit for her on Amazon but there was little choice and I had to wait for it to be in stock of course. However now, that problem has gone as I have discovered THE BABY SWIMMING SHOP….

You all know what I am like with Alyssa’s wardrobe… I adore shopping for clothes for her and I am sorry to say but swimwear is no different!! I also don’t mind spending that little bit more on swimwear because I think it will often last a lot longer than regular clothes because they aren’t wearing it all the time and it stretches meaning it will grow with their bodies, so I always try and get a slightly bigger size to make sure itwoman sat at a computer writing with a cup of coffee lasts… we won’t just stop swimming at the end of summer you know! When THE BABY SWIMMING SHOP offered to let me try their shopping experience… I mean, how could I resist!

First of all, I found their website really easy to navigate and visually appealing as it has nice clean lines and isn’t too fussy with lots on the page… it also doesn’t scroll on forever and ever! If you’re trying to get to the bottom of the page to find more information, social links or contact details, you can actually reach the bottom of the page unlike some websites where content just keeps on and on and on appearing! Back to the navigation, as I said I found it easy to navigate and liked the fact that it was broken down into all the sub-sections with their own separate menus as that way I found it a lot easier and quicker to get to the products that I wanted to look at rather than having to trawl through their website looking at products that I wasn’t interested in buying!

After clicking thpink with white flowers child's wet suit with white flowers rough the site, I came across the items I was looking for… one for summer and one for winter. First of all I chose this gorgeous “Splash About” pink wet suit with a white Hawaiian floral design down the arms and sides. With a high neck and Velcro fastening at the back this wet suit will be easy to slip on and off bubba at the pool but will also keep her warm in un-heated pools and when the temperature begins to drop and we head out of summer… perfect! Also, becnavy blue with white spots floaty swimming costumeause it is footless it will last her longer; goodness knows where she gets it from but my darling daughter has lovely long (if slightly and gorgeously chubby) legs and this often means we have to go up a size in everything, so not having feet on the wet suit is a hug bonus for us.

Our other choice was something completely different and perfect for warm summer days and heated pools and it was this lovely navy blue and white polka dot “Float Suit” from Konfidence. Not only do I want to encourage Alyssa to play in the water and enjoy herself, I want to encourage her confidence and this suit will do that with its ring of floats that will sit around her middle, whilst looking super stylish at the same time! To be honest I could have picked so many, the choice on THE BABY SWIMMING SHOP is excellent and they sell  loads of accessories too so you can literally find everything you need to help your kids enjoy their summer holidays in and out of the pool!

Once I had added my purchases to the basket it was a quick and easy process to fill in my details and pay…. via Paypal. This is the only minor problem I could possibly see; it was no problem for me because I have a Paypal account but of course some people may not and they would need to set one up. However, this is a quick and easy process and the products are completely worth it. Only 2 days later my products had arrived neatly wrapped in their packaging ready for us to enjoy and just in time for the sunshine!!

So whether it’s for a boy or girl, big or small, in or out of the pool, head over to THE BABY SWIMMING SHOP and I guarantee that you will find what you are looking for… don’t forget to let me know what you get and you can always link to me on Twitter or why not share your snaps with me on Instagram too!!

Have a great summer everyone!

  1. How lovely that Alyssa enjoys swimming so much. I rarely take the girls swimming – partly because I can’t manage them both alone but also because Jessica struggles to regulate her body temperature in the water and needs a wetsuit. I do love the wetsuit from the Baby Swimming Shop though – we get ours from Heartline as they provide free wetsuits for heart children but will have to check out the Baby Swimming Shop if I need anything for Sophie. #triballove

  2. How gorgeous this stuff is! It’s so important to get children to get used to the water as soon as they are young. I remember being so scared of it when I was a kid, just because I didn’t have the opportunity earlier. #ablogginggoodtime

  3. This sounds great. I’m on holiday in August and will be looking for another set of UV swimwear for Sophie so I will head on over and check this out. Thanks for sharing #ablogginggoodtime

  4. So impressive! The swimsuits look great! I always get a bit frustrated at the lack of selection of swimwear for toddlers in most department stores. This looks a really easy way to find what you need (and from home – ahhh bliss!) Thanks for hosting #ablogginggoodtime xx

  5. It is so good that Alyssa has become water confident from such an early age as this will really help her when she is older and is such a key life skill. I love taking J swimming, apart from getting him changed afterwards! He went through a stage of being really scared, but he loves it again now! Great to see that it is so easy to buy swimwear online, it isn’t that easy to find children’s swimwear all year round. #Ablogginggoodtime

  6. I really regret not taking the Popple swimming while I was on mat leave. I’m sure she would have loved it. Part of the reason I didn’t was the hassle of getting her a swimsuit – and needing one for myself! I’m not sure my bikini from 2010 would cut it at the gym pool. #ablogginggoodtime

I have really struggled to find swimming gear for my premmie boy you can buy all sorts of trunks and speedo type items but it was rare to find a full suit for him! This website sounds great! I will be sure to know where to go next time. # ablogginggoodtime

  8. What a great post! my little girl loves swimming, so I’m always on the look out for good costumes and floats, so thanks for sharing. Im looking at the site now! #ablogginggoodtime

  9. Sonia says:

Mine have been swimming from very early too- they are little water babies! So important that they learn to swim early. These are lovely – I’ve bought from here before and they’ve lasted well. #ablogginggoodtime

  10. Michelle says:

They are so cute, i’ve never been able to find anything suitable for my 3, they are on the waiting list for lessons so I will definitely check out the shop when they are in. #ablogginggoodtime

  11. Only having paypal payment could be a problem for them, I know a handful of people that can’t be bothered with Paypal. But probably not an issue for most people with kids and shopping online though! I love the float swimming costumes. Robert loves water too and is such a pain to get out! #ablogginggoodtime

  12. I absolutely love the pink water suit! It’s so important to get babies used to the water..it took a while for Emma but I’m so glad we persevered with it as she loves swimming now. We recently tried one of the float suits too and they are amazing, she loved it! Thanks for hosting #ablogginggoodtime lovely xxx

  14. Ah great choice of design, Hawaiian floral all the way!!!! Sounds like a great site, I will have a peek myself! #ablogginggoodtime

  15. Oooh I love that spotty suit with the floats – when Pie starts school I am going to take Pudding swimming every week so this will be perfect! #ablogginggoodtime

  16. Silly Mummy says:

Oh yes – my babies were very small. Eldest was born in Spring & trying to get a small enough costume to take her swimming the first summer was a nightmare! I also find it can be hard to find much by way of a selection if your child changes size during autumn or winter when shops don’t prioritise swimwear! Not heard of this site – sounds good! #ablogginggoodtime

Evan has been swimming with Water Babies since he was 8 weeks and he absolutely loves it! His confidence in the water already at 11 months is fantastic, the classes are so much fun can t recommend them enough!
