Modern Day Dating – How It’s Done!

Surprisingly I do like clothes. I mean I don’t necessarily like the way I look in them but I do like clothes. I especially like pretty clothes or clothes that make me feel good about myself. I have been fortunate enough to work with River Island before on a couple of Winter looks and I was shocked that so many people had no idea that they even have a plus size section. I was chuffed when they got back in touch and asked me to try out a couple of looks from their summer collection…

I always worry that River Island fashion is too young for me or I can’t pull it off but actually there was so much to choose from and I could have spent a fortune. Now, I am recently dating and so I find myself for the first time in a long time, in need of dresses that look nice to go out in – honestly, I have never worn so many dresses in my life!

When I saw this gorgeous off the shoulder black dress with tiny white spots and red roses all over it I fell in love with it. Now, I do not normally wear off the shoulder dresses because obviously there is no way I cannot wear a bra, strapless bras just don’t do anything for me, tit tape… well I’d need a roll per boob and I hate bra straps being on show. That’s when I realised this dress had straps as well as being oss the shoulder meaning I could wear my normal bra underneath.

The dress falls to a really nice length and I could totally wear it with either flats or heels depending on the occassion and whether I wanted it dressy or casual. The top half and sleeves are elasticated which is great as I was worried they wouldn’t fit but as you can see I think they fit really well and the dress drops in a really flattering way.

Okay, I don’t do bikinis at all but when I saw this striped, monochrome, 50s style bikini, I just had to have it. With the halter top there is so much lift and it keeps my ample cleavage firmly in place. It’s not the top half I normally worry about though, it’s the bottom as being over weight I don’t like showing my body off. However, the 50s style bottoms are high-waisted and with slimming stripes and only a small amount of skin from my midriff on show, I truly adore this costume and cannot wait to take it  to Greece with me in a few weeks time.

Once again I’d totally recommend River Island as a surprising supplier of gorgeous plus size fashion – there is loads of choice in so many colours and patterns that you’ll be sure to find something to suit every occassion.
