Why A Serviced Office?
14th January 2019
For the longest time, my little girl was not interested in stories and books. She much preferred her own imagination which would whisk her away on adventures in faraway lands with princesses, wizards, unicorns and the paw patrol of course. Then gradually I noticed she started to pick up books and try to read them to herself by making up words to go with the pictures.  Slowly but surely she’d ask me to read and it has become part of our bedtime ritual to read a story whilst she lies in bed, getting ready for her dreams. Sometimes though she wants to read a lot more than I am able to do, especially when working from home and it was worrying me that I was discouraging her from reading. When Lunii asked me if I’d like to review their My Fabulous Storyteller I was delighted as it’s like audio books for little ones which is just perfect!

I’ll be honest, I had never heard of Lunii or their fabulous storyteller but I was intrigued as I’d been thinking of finding some way to play audio books for Alyssa as another alternative to screen time. Basically the My Fabulous Storyteller is exactly that an audio book story reader. the lunii story teller with it's instruction bookIt’s a little green box with orange buttons that you charge via a cable provided (no plug but it has a usb port so can be charged via usb plug or other device) and tells stories to it’s listeners.

The first thing I liked was the size – it wasn’t too big, meaning the little hands it is intended for (suitable from 3+) are able to carry it around. We haven’t dropped ours at all but I have read other reviews which say it is really robust which is again good with little ones. It does also have a headphone jack port so you won’t have to listen to all the stories as well if you don’t want to. Alyssa has child safe speakers which prevent sound being played too loudly so is able to use these. the lunii my fabulous storyteller device next to a dolly

Here comes the really good big – it comes with 49 stories to listen to as well as hundreds more to download BUT you choose the protagonist, location, companion and object when you plug it into your computer. Essentially you and/or your children are designing their very own stories and adventures which is just amazing.

I really REALLY loved this and think it may well be my find of the year at the moment. Alyssa has always had some sort of noise at bedtime, be it white noise or wave sounds. We’ve now tried this and she loves going to sleep listening to the stories – I have also found it has potentially lessened the bad dreams she has been having, maybe because she’s hearing wonderful tales of fun and adventure, who knows! I obviously don’t let her go to sleep wearing headphones, so we play it out loud and I creep in and shut it off later in the evening.

If your child loves stories, has a great imagination or perhaps is even having nightmares I’d definitely recommend it. In fact I’d recommend it for any child. A BRILLIANT accompaniment to childhood.

I absolutely love the idea of this! My daughter is four and for Christmas she got her own cd player to listen to music in her bedroom and she is obsessed with it. She loves being able to pick and choose whatever she wants to listen to so I think these audio stories would be absolutely perfect for her. Her birthday is in April so I think I might just invest in this. Thank you for the idea! #ablogginggoodtime
