Zoomer Zupps Pretty Ponies Review

Is your child the same? The second that sun begins to shine they are out that door and in the garden or desperate to go to the park or the farm or any other favourite place that they have. Alyssa hates being indoors too long – even when she is ill she likes to go and sit outside for a little while. She doesn’t like getting too cold and this is the only time she will ask to go in which means I need to come up with more and more ideas of what to do outside. This can often gets expensive if we are going here there and everywhere so I am constantly looking for things to do at home that will provide hours of entertainment. Well, I have found the solution that will not only keep her entertained but also spur on her imagination as well as entertain her friends too. Big Game Hunters, creators of the most amazing garden and outdoor toys asked if we’d like one of their magical creations so how could I say no…

a wooden childs boat with a blue sail and red flag and steering wheel with a sandpit in the centre

In case you haven’t heard of them before Big Game Hunters as I said make the most amazing garden and outdoor toys for children – from playhouses to climbing frames and basketball hoops to sandpits. I was so excited when they asked if they could send us their Sand Sailer sandpit – a wooden boat with a blue sail that acts as a sunshade, a red steering wheel and a red flag out the back.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t mind plastic toys and sometimes it’s unavoidable, but there is something about wooden toys for children that I just love and so this ticks all the boxes. What is really lovely is that this boat has two or three uses. So, when closed up it is a normal boat with a platform to sit or stand on. When you open the middle hatch and put the hatches back, they turn into seats and the centre becomes a sand pit (or somewhere to put your feel until the warmer weather really does arrive. Finally and rather surprisingly, the front of the boat actually opens and provides storage for all the toys that you decide to put in your sandpit or even from around the garden – perfect!

I asked my wonderful step dad to come over and put it together for me whilst Alyssa was out so that it was a nice surprise for when she got back. Now, he is very handy but he doesn’t like instructions after years of using some painfully bad ones but I informed him he’d have to follow them faithfully and this usually results in lots of works I unfortunately cannot type. However, in not time at all and with very little effort it was ready to go. DON’T WORRY you do not need to build it in place because it actually isn’t that heavy and we were able to move it in place and have also moved it around the garden so as not to spoil the grass beneath.

Another great feature is that it came with a groundsheet to put underneath the whole boat and it also comes with a cover to go over the top and protect it from the elements. I did go and by a small liner to put inside the seats to protect the sand and make the sand transportable too but other than that you have everything you need… just add sand. Needless to say Alyssa was absolutely ecstatic and has not stopped playing with it!

It would appear one of her favourite things to go is take some of her figurines out there and climb aboard and head off on adventures with them. I hear a lot of “Woooaahhh!” and “Watch out for the water!” Then the pinnacle moment for me was when she started singing “It Calls Me” from Moana and I suddenly realised that she thinks it is her own little Moana raft – priceless!

I cannot recommend Big Game Hunters enough – delivery was fast and efficient, the product was easy to put together and you can tell it is just pure quality. Whether you children enjoy sand, climbing, imaginative play, speeding down slides or swinging high up into the air, get summer ready so they can enjoy the outdoors all season long and turn them into a Big Game Hunters fan too!

Sadly we don’t have a garden or any outside space but we do live by the sea so that’s the compromise! My three would LOVE this! #ablogginggoodtime
