When I was pregnant my mind went in to overdrive about everything I would need to get for my little one and I was worried I would forget something or not get enough or get the wrong thing or the wrong brand and on and on and on and ahhhhh. Yeah, I will admit that I was a bit neurotic so I did what anyone would do in my position and printed off a list that I kept with me at all times and ticked things off as I went. Of course then comes the problem of which brand do you choose?! There are a bazillion different brands  for each and everything that a baby needs so how would I know which one to use?! Lots of people go by word of mouth or past experiences and I have to admit this did play a small part in my decisions as I’d heard about certain nappies that caused problems and certain creams that weren’t great. In the beginning, like a lot of people, I chose to use cotton wool to clean my little one’s delicate new born skin. You never know how sensitive a baby’s skin is going to be or if they will have any allergies so I thought it was better to start out with some organic cotton wool. After several months I realised that when going out this wasn’t always going to be the most practical or easiest way to clean her up and so I went in search of a wipe and that is where I came across Jackson Reece’s Kinder by Nature products…

Browsing the shelves in supermarket after supermarket and baby department after baby store I was looking for a natural brand. Basically one that would have no nasties in it, wouldn’t break the bank and was easily accessible because it was in more than one shop that was a hundred miles away. In several of these stores, some brightly coloured packaging kept popping out at me and when I’d glance I’d notice a baby smiling. I saw it several times and thought I’ve got to take a look and that is when I discovered Jackson Reece’s Kinder By Nature.

I picked up a single packet of the wipes to try them out as you never know how your child’s skin would react but looking through all the plus points about them listed I thought they were worth a shot.

  • pH balanced, hypoallergenic and dermatologically approved (which was good as I’d tried one of those nappies I’d been worried about and was right as my little one had a rash within hours!)
  •  99% naturally derived ingredients
  • No nasties: chemicals, alcohol, parabens
  • 100% perfume free (the herbal ones now available are scented with organic aloe vera and ylang ylang)
  • Biodegradable
  • Not tested on animals (always a must for this veggie I assure you!)

So they sounded a bit too good to be true but I took them home to have a go and we have never had a problem with them. They are soft to touch, we’ve had no reactions whatsoever and they even wipe off tomato pasta sauce from messy faces too!

Strangely, I was recently contacted by the lovely people over at Jackson Reece who asked me if I’d like to review some of their products… hold the phone, they do more than wipes?! Turns out they not only do natural wipes and now herbal wipes too, they have loads of others too including some toiletries (that you’ll see over on our Instagram soon!)

Anyone who follows us will know how much of a snot ball Alyssa turns into during the Winter months and I’m not much better so the Nose Nuzzles that Jackson Reece do will be perfect for when the colds hit us again. Rather than wiping noses clean when they can become sore, these wipes encourage you to “Nuzzle them clean with pure, natural soothing saline wipes” which are going to be much kinder to drippy noses big or small.

To top it all off whether you are wiping mouths, noses, hands or bums, Kinder by Nature also have a Mucky Mitts hand sanitiser spray which once again has the same factors as all their other products so that even little ones can use this spray – so can us big kids too! So, how did Jackson Reece get started…

“Our story begins back in 1999, when our beautiful son Jackson was born. We were so excited with our healthy bouncing baby, but at eight months Jackson developed baby eczema. To our horror, he became very unwell after using steroid cream which not only thins the skin but destroys the immune system. We also discovered that the alcohol present in many baby wipes compounded the condition, which just didn’t seem right. Our first thought was “there has to be a natural wipe available that doesn’t contain these types of chemicals?”

As parents we felt we had no choice but to explore developing our own wipe that would protect and soothe our baby boy’s delicate skin. After years of exhaustive research and steadfast determination, we successfully designed our own unique cleansing wipes that contain naturally occurring ingredients.”

Even if they hadn’t contacted me asking me to review their products, I would have recommended them and still use them to this day with my baby girl and I will now be using the whole range as well. I’ve already recommended them to friends over the past few years and knew that I needed to recommend them to you guys as well. They are really easy to get hold of too as you can get them in a lot of Tesco stores as well as Amazon, Boots, Mothercare and loads more – you can check for your nearest retailer on the Jackson Reece website.

Kinder by Nature get a huge thumbs up from me as they helped me be kinder to my baby’s skin.
