Highlights of the Week: #17

So here we are again, coming to you live from the very dark place that is my dining room with only the glow of my laptop for comfort… somehow despite being on top of things this week I have somehow run out of time this weekend – not sure what happened there! Anyway, it doesn’t matter because here I am…, sacrificing my precious sleep to bring you the high-points of my week…

1. Online – This week saw some really good results for me on both Instagram and Facebook. I was able to notch up quite a few followers which I see as a big achievement on both of these social media platforms as I am doing it completely organically and not submitting to buying followers despite the number of advertisements for this that I get linked to on a daily basis. The numbers are slowly creeping up and that is the way it should be!

2. Offline – Alyssa and I had a wonderful time on Friday this week as we headed off to KW Photography for the next photo session in her First Year Package. Now, I knew she was a bit of a camera diva, but I had no idea she could turn it on like she did. It was amazing and hilarious, my mum, Karen and I were astounded, amazed and in fits of giggles. It was awesome and I can’t wait to share the results with you soon!!

3.  Online – This week, my helpful blog post is not in fact a particular blog post. I have chosen to highlight and pay homage to a new series created by @Rosalilium over on her You Tube Channel which aims to provide bloggers with insights, tips and tricks for blogging to help you really make your blog work. I have been a fan of Elizabeth’s for ages and am an avid watcher of her videos. This series is great and you can check it out right here.

4. Offline – I know I have mentioned them before, but I am going to have to mention them again. It has been 7 weeks now since #TribalChat began and I met some of my wonderful tribesters. The reason this point is going in offline is because I feel like I have gained this massive group of friends not only online but offline. They are there at 4am in the morning when a couple of us are night feeding or 6am when we are all frantically reaching for the coffee pot. Although it’s been seven weeks, I feel like I have known some a lifetime and feel very privileged to call them all my friends – love ya gals!!

5. Online – I joined the Parent Blogger Club online last week as a few people had mentioned it and I enjoy keeping track of how I am doing within ranks of varying clubs, websites etc. Having only been on there a week, I wasn’t expecting much so imagine my surprise when an email landed in my inbox on Monday morning telling me I was one of the top 5 newcomers and I had gone in straight at 100!! I was shocked and so excited – to me it just shows me that I must be doing something right… big smiles right here!!

6. Offline – For some reason, I have managed to find a bit of time to get in the kitchen and cook this week. The weather has been a bit hit and miss and I am currently suffering with a pretty bad shoulder injury meaning that I wanted something old school and comforting. Therefore, I dived in a produced my Nanny’s Cauliflower Cheese! It is not that different from any regular cauliflower cheese but because my Nan taught me to make it this way it always tastes so much better and makes me feel all warm and comforted. I miss my Nan all the time but at least I can make this almost just like she used to!

7. Online – As I have mentioned countless times, including a few points ago, I really love Instagram and enjoy participating in the many communities on there. This week, a new community for sharing pictures of our little ones has been created by the wonderful@WhiteCamellias. She has started #WorldofLittles which I think is a wonderful way to share and remember all the things happening with our own little ones in our day to day lives. For more info click here!!

8. Offline – Now I don’t want to jinx this so I am going to whisper and say this really quietly. I am happy to report, that after months and months of constantly mentioning about doing battle with Alyssa to get her to sleep in the evening that I may have finally won the battle. It takes a really set routine that involves her sleeping for about 30 minutes and then being re-comforted back to sleep… but it is working!! I finally have some time in the evenings to do some work! Now, I just have to get into the habit of NOT passing out to sleep when she does!!

9. Online – I have been a part of @Tots100 for quite sometime now but wasn’t really moving anywhere within the rankings and in fact one month didn’t move at all which I suppose is better than going down or up or whichever is the way you don’t want to go. However, when the new results came out last week I was sooooo pleased to see that I have made it all the way to 536!! I am so close to breaking into that top 500 and that is my goal and what I am aiming for next month! Fingers crossed for me everyone…!!

10. Offline – This may sound a weird highlight but I am pleased to announce that I have resigned! I no longer have to return to a job that I didn’t enjoy and be away from my little girl. It looks like I am going to be able to work from home, stay with her and work and develop my blog even more and I couldn’t be happier… champers anyone??

That’s it from me for this week. Hope I haven’t bored you for too long… How has your week been? Any exciting news for me?
