Planning and buying all your Christmas gifts for your loved ones require a lot of thought and preparation – after all, you want to get them something really special. But buying for acquaintances can be harder. From teachers and neighbours, to post men and milk men, here is our guide to buying an inexpensive yet thoughtful gift that any acquaintance will appreciate.

We all like to treat our taste buds little at Christmas, so for a present that will please any acquaintance, consider giving the gift of food. There are lots of chocolate gift ideas you can consider, like a nice box of chocolates. Alternatively, if you think they would prefer savoury, they could love a mini cheese selection.

Depending on the acquaintance you are buying for, you may know very little about their home’s interior décor, but there are still many homeware ideas that can make great gifts. This includes a Christmas scented candle or festive plants like Poinsettia, to bring a festive feel into their home.

Everyone has very different tastes when it comes to their preferred alcoholic beverage. From wine and beer, to spirits and whisky, choosing the right one for an acquaintance can be tough. Instead, you could make sure they get a nice morning brew with a tea or coffee set.

The winter months can be tough on skin, so for a thoughtful and caring present, consider gifting a skin care set. No matter who the recipient is, you can find these with all sorts of products, such as moisturisers, scrubs and beard oils, making them an ideal choice.

Get Something Personalised

Selecting a personalised present can be tricky if you do not know someone very well, but there are many different ideas that make a really thoughtful gift, for any acquaintance you have. You could add their name to a mug, coasters or cheese board, choose some ‘best teacher stationery’ or add your neighbour’s names to a personalised family Christmas bauble.

Lastly, if you are still unsure, then how about a gift card or voucher? If you do decide to go for this option, choose one that can be spent in numerous places. This is a great idea it is allows the recipient to treat themselves to drinks, a meal or a new accessory, making sure they get something they really want.
