From a very young age, Alyssa has had a great imagination and is always talking to herself or her little figurines and making up stories and as she has gotten older she has started to enjoy dressing up more and more. One place we love for all our dressing up supplies is Pretend to Bee who do some amazing costumes ranging from Nurses to Geisha to Fairies to Lollipop Ladies. The choices are endless and each costume only serves as fuel for their little imaginations.

Have you heard of Gund? If you haven’t then where have you been? They have been around a long time and are 
makers of some of the most gorgeous soft toys ever with characters ranging from Sesame Street to Peter Rabbit, toys suitable for babies and ones that grown-ups will want too! You may have seen on Facebook or Twitter a certain set of Gifs involving a cat called Pusheen – well I am here to tell you that Pusheen exists in real life too!
There are a whole range of Pusheen toys/characters from mermaid (which of course we have) to detective and more. Not only that but they have also released their Pusheenicorn Plushie Toy  which I have to say is pretty epic and I am so pleased we have one to add to our collection. They are so soft and cuddly and are an amazing quality and will be a great present for people of all ages this Christmas – why not get the whole collection?! They also have a SUPER PUSHEENICORN out now too which I now of course have to get too!
Do you know what I really love? Internet sites where you can go on and find almost everything you need all in one place. It makes things so much easier doesn’t it?! Well, imagine my delight when I came across Find Me A Gift and how happy I was when I saw how much Unicorn and Pink stuff they had up for grabs. I literally could have gone
shopping for days but thought I would just pick a few of my favourite items to feature.
No-one is a true Unicorn super fan unless they have a pair of Super Fluffy Unicorn Slippers – which I do of course and how amazing are these?! They go very well with the Unicorn Colour Changing Mug which I can drink a lovely cup of hot coffee from in the morning – it goes from having a solid purple mane to having a full on rainbow mane! Or for little ones like Alyssa, you could ways go for the Unicorn Colour Changing Lamp which would work really well as a night light and she adores it! There are so many more items available so why not head on over and check them out!
We are huge fans of Next clothing in our house – they are good quality, a decent sizing and last a bloomin’ long 
time. I’d say about 75% of Alyssa’s wardrobe is from Next and I really adore what they’ve got in this season. I know that kids “don’t want to” receive clothes for Christmas but actually my little one loves getting new clothes and so do the parents as it can often help them out so why not get some of the gorgeous bits and pieces from Next – did you know they have a Unicorn Range?!
We were lucky enough to get this gorgeous grey, blank and pink Unicorn Dungrees Dress which comes with a little grey t-shirt that says “Dream Like a Unicorn”. There is also a shirt dress in this range which we already have. I’ve paired it with this to die for Blue Unicorn & Rainbow Cardigan – isn’t it just the most gorgeous colour ever?! We finished it off with some lovely unicorn tights which you can get in sets of 2 and 3 which we already had because we saw them in store and loved them! There was so much more we could have chosen including a Unicorn Onesie so why not head on over and check it all out – the party-wear section is pretty awesome too!
As I said, one of my favourite things to find online, is a shop that makes
it easy to actually shop. Where you can find lots of things all in one place and not only that but it’s easy to navigate too. I love What 2 Buy 4 Kids and have worked with them a few times on different projects because I love their products, the quality of them and the general ethos and atmosphere of the brand. I am pleased to say that they obviously knew I was planning on doing a Unicorn Gift Guide because they completely went to town with stocking their site with some awesome gifts.
The Unicorn Popper has to be one of my absolute favourite things I have seen this year so far – A little Unicorn figure with a trigger, 6 foam rainbow balls (so there’ll be no bruising or breaking of ornaments) and a lot of fun! I love this and would quite have liked it for myself but instead I’ll be “popping” (pun intended) this in Alyssa’s stocking this year for some great fun on Christmas morning! They have also added a great range of stationary featuring Fairies and Unicorns including the Fairies and Unicorn Sketch Pad and Fairies and Unicorn Pencils – these I will be keeping for myself I assure you! I even managed to find something for Nonna too (who’s not adverse to the odd unicorn item) in the form of a Knit Your Own Unicorn!! She loves knitting and so this will make a great little mini present for under the tree!

When I was a girl many decades ago, unicorns were silvery white with white manes and tails and silver horns. In fact if you look at medieval tapestries showing unicorns, they are always silvery white. At some point in the last 20 years or so they have morphed into creatures with rainbow manes and tails. I can’t recall exactly when this happened, but I really like the change as one of my favourite things about “new” unicorns is the colourful hair.
