A Disney Day at the Beach

Do you want to know how many times I went to the beach this summer? Just twice. I know it seems mad especially as I live in the heart of Dorset, less than twenty minutes from one of many absolutely gorgeous beaches. However, I am not the only one who thinks they are beautiful. In fact I am one of many thousand locals and thousands more holiday makers who think our beaches are lovely and so I prefer to stay in my own peaceful back garden where there is no risk of my precious girl getting lost in the crowds or worse. However, come Autumn and really nice days in Winter, I adore going down to the beach where it is often practically empty apart from dog walkers and the occasional mad as a hatter surfer. When Disney Store UK got in touch and offered to send Alyssa a gorgeous outfit from their new Minnie Mouse collection we were so excited. Then we found out they also sent the matching waterproof jacket too. So we thought what better way to test them out than an Autumnal day at the beach…

I have been a Disney fanatic for as long as I remember – in fact I completely blame Disney for the fact that I haven’t found a man I want to settle down with because none of them match up to the many Prince Charmings I have watched over the years – I mean they don’t even match up to Mufasa and he was a lion!

So, being asked by #DisneyStoreUK if we would like to review some of their new Minnie Mouse clothing range was a dream come true, especially for Alyssa who’s best friend just so happens to be… you guessed it Minnie Mouse or as she calls her “Mimmie!” (You can read all about how special Mimmie is in “She Did What I Couldn’t!”) Not only that but they were going to send a couple of items for me too – That’s a mum win right there! I thought I’d put together a little video of our trip to the beach…

As you can see we had a wonderful time and thoroughly put Alyssa’s new clothes through their paces. So she got a gorgeous mustard yellow and white striped top with a beautiful blue collar (that has “Fabulous Style” stitched onto it) and Minnie Mouse on the front. It was part of a two piece set which also came with the navy leggings which had cute little patches on the knees. She was lucky enough to then get the matching Rain Jacket which as you saw was in the same colours – what you didn’t see was that the inside is lined in a mustard coloured fleece for extra warmth and that there is a hood which has Minnie Mouse ears on – how CUTE is that?! Just as an FYI – the outfit is currently ON SALE at the Disney Store and is down to half price if you want to nab one! You could literally feel the quality of all 3 pieces and not only that they allowed her to move freely and just have fun being a child like she should. She gave them a good going over whilst playing and they came home really grubby but they came up perfectly fine in the wash – even the white bits and no fading or colour running whatsoever. It’s a nice feeling when you know your child is wearing quality clothing, isn’t it?

I bet you’re wondering what I got aren’t you?! Well, I was fortunate enough to be sent the matching Tote Bag AND a gorgeous notebook which seriously feeds my obsessive love of stationary – I’m the kind of girl who buys a notebook not because she needs one (I have like 50 ina drawer) but because it’s pretty and can NEVER be written in. Yup I know – so excited squeals when my bits arrived AND I found that they had been personalised with my name on them too! The notebook was hardback and lined with lots of pages inside. The tote bag was a lovely material and you could feel it was sturdy meaning I could use it to carry lots of bits including my laptop for the rare occasions I get to use a coffee shop to work or I could just carry it around everywhere because it’s so puuuurrrrtttyyyyy.

It literally completed  my outfit and fulfilled a silly desire of mine to be matchy matchy somewhat with my child so thanks for helping a girl out Disney – you rock!

We thoroughly enjoyed our day at the beach which was topped off by lovely steaming portions of chips smothered in salt and vinegar (for the adults) eaten on our laps in the car as we warmed up after what was a lovely time. We’ll definitely be back soon and I reckon we’ll probably take Minnie Mouse with use again too – Cheers Disney!
