How Many Sleepzzz Until It’s Time?!
25th July 2017
Too many people these days still think of bees as nothing more than pests that can sting you – well they aren’t! They are not wasps and will only sting you if they feel threatened. Why? When they sting you they die so it is by all accounts a last resort. We’re huge bee fans in this house and when we moved in were quite surprised to discover we had an underground beehive in the garden. We sectioned that part off so Alyssa wouldn’t stumble into it and haven’t heard from them since. We also sent away for a free packet of “bee seeds” which are wild flowers that, in particular, Honey Bees love. However, I am by no means an expert but really and truly want to encourage people to do all they can to help make sure “The Humble Honey Bee” survives. Here’s some more information for you – it’s scary how close they are coming to extinction…

Did you realise it that little tiny bees did so much?! I sure didn’t. I had no idea that bees could be worth billions and billions of pounds all over the world. The fact that such a tiny insect could cause such devastation to the world really makes you think – would you like to be one of the ones that goes hungry?! I know I wouldn’t. This summer, when plating and adding to our garden, we’ll be looking for Bee plants – plants that make the bees happy and encourage them to grow and they are usually easy to spot in garden centres as companies are now purposefully labeling them too.

What will you do?!

This is a collaborative post.

What a great infographic. I’ve seen things like this before, but I don’t think people do realise, we just see them as an annoyance don’t we? #foodiefriday
