Can We Go Back?

Holding hands in a heart

Can we go back to where we once were,

When you were him and I was her?

Can we go back and be them once again,

Back at the start and far from the end?

Can we go back to that first ever date,

When we laughed and we kissed and we first wrote our fate?

Can we go back to that first special time,

When in nothing but candlelight your body met mine?

Can we go back to the first time I heard,

You whisper those 3 little magical words?

Can we go back to our beautiful dream,

When all was so perfect or that’s how it seemed?

LIGHTING&PHOTOGRAPHY

Can we go back and stop all of time,

So that no matter what you’d always be mine?

Can we go back and take away words,

Or can we pretend that they were just never heard?

Can we go back and dry all the tears,

Kiss away all the hurt and dismiss all the fears?

Can we go back or is it simply too late,

To say that I’m sorry and take back the hate?

Can we go back and begin once again,

Forget all the pain and at last start to mend?

LIGHTING&PHOTOGRAPHY

Can we go back to our happiest time,

When I held your hand and you held on to mine?

Can we go back or should we just not?

Is there anything left or was that our lot?

Can we go back or should we not try?

Shall we just call it quits and whisper goodbye?

Can we move on and start all a new?

‘Cos no matter what happens I’ll always love you

Can we move on and go hand in hand?

I hope that one day you’ll say “Yes, we can.”

Hindsight… it;s a wonderful thing isn’t it? A lot has changed lately as you may or may not have noticed. I have been away for a while, whilst getting my new site out here into the blogosphere and I am so pleased to be back. However, time away gave me a chance to re-enter the “real world” if you like. It gave me a chance to spend some quality time with Alyssa and the people around me. It gave me time to think and time to see things from a new perspective. I know, I am being rather cryptic… aren’t I? The thing is there is nothing to tell… not really. Well, something happened and it wasn’t a big something, well it kind of was, but it seems to have had a very big effect upon me…

Kissing couple at sunset

It was just a kiss… well actually there were two. You could cut the tension in the room and suddenly to find his lips locked onto mine took my breath away and left me hungry for more. First came a few tears but then came another kiss and now…. nothing. We are at a standstill. I am unsure about what he wants but how will I ever know until he does? I find myself shocked at the feelings that are there… feelings I thought must previously have been a dream but that were reignited when his passion fed into mine.

I don’t know what will happen… perhaps nothing.. perhaps something. I am trying to be careful and to guard my heart, but when butterflies are fluttering around your stomach and your skin tingles as if a warm summer’s breeze has skitted across it, it is hard not to be swept away… watch this space.

Butterflies fluttering black and white picture

It’s good to be back. How have you been?
